67th Academy Awards

The 67th Academy Awards was held on March 27, 1995, at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles. The ceremony, hosted by talk show host David Letterman, honored the best film achievements from 1994. One of the most notable aspects of the ceremony was the dominance of the film 'Forrest Gump'. It garnered thirteen nominations and won six Oscars, including Best Picture. The film's lead, Tom Hanks, won Best Actor, marking his second consecutive win in this category - a rare achievement previously accomplished only by Spencer Tracy. This made Hanks the second person to win consecutive Oscars. Other notable winners included Robert Zemeckis for Best Director for 'Forrest Gump', Jessica Lange for Best Actress for 'Blue Sky', and Martin Landau for Best Supporting Actor for 'Ed Wood'.
