Sir Elton John's Yamaha Signature Series C-1 Baby Grand piano, with a glossy red finish inspired by the original that the singer used on his world tours in the 1970s and 1980s, was built in 2005 to commemorate his five-year 'The Red Piano' concert residency at the Colosseum at Caesar's Palace, Las Vegas that took place between 2004-2009. The music rack is signed in gold ink by the musician himself. The instrument was auctioned off by Julien's Auctions on June 15, 2021, and sold for more than $50,000 higher than initially expected. A portion of the proceeds went to the Elton John AIDS Foundation.
