His thought-provoking and expressive graffiti-style paintings combine graphic poetry, cultural contrasts, and powerful social commentary. The 'Gold Label' collection doll ensemble is dressed in a crown and suit and features many well-known elements from works spanning Basquiat's career. The Jean-Michel Basquiat X Barbie doll is a limited edition, with no more than 20,000 dolls produced worldwide. Carlyle Nuera, the lead designer for Barbie Signature at Mattel, designed the doll.
