Designer Rob Best

Robert Best was promoted to Vice President at Mattel in 2022, after serving as Senior Design Director since 1995. Throughout his career, he has created a variety of Barbie dolls based on characters from films and TV shows, such as Audrey Helpburn, and other celebrities and musicians. Best has also collaborated with fashion designers to replicate their creations on a Barbie scale. He is known for creating the 2000 Barbie Fashion Model Collection, which inspired a book published in 2010. Best's educational background in fashion design was obtained from Parsons The New School for Design in New York. He has worked for major fashion brands like Donna Karan and Isaac Mizrahi and has most recently gained recognition among pop culture enthusiasts when he appeared on the reality TV show Project Runway in 2006.
