On October 23, 1975, Elton John arrived in Hollywood in a glittering golf cart, wearing star-shaped glasses, to receive a star on the Walk of Fame in front of the Chinese Theater to receive the star and the honorary 'Star Award' from the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce. The stars are monuments to achievement in the entertainment industry, bearing the names of a mix of actors, directors, producers, musicians, theatrical/musical groups, fictional characters, and others.
