'Stereotypical Barbie,' in Barbie: The Movie, is the original white, blue eyes, blonde hair, elongated legs, no cellulite, slender Barbie. She lives in a pink house without a job. She only attends parties every night and has 'Girls’ Night.' There are many Barbies in Barbie Land who have different professions, but what 'stereotypical Barbie' does is 'stay pretty.' Actress Margot Robbie, who played Barbie, stated that despite the negative connotation of the word' it was necessary (to be a part of the movie) because she is already putting parameters around herself that she is, later on, going to step out of and break free. She needs to start there, referring to herself as Stereotypical Barbie, because she's already putting herself down without realizing it.'
